After a brief team meeting, the practice session is done.

You need to know how to stride well to play baseball. If you’re right-handed, use your left leg to pick it up a bit when the pitch is released. It works just the opposite for those among us who are left-handed. When a pitch comes close to you, begin striding about a foot forward to build up a bit of momentum towards that pitcher. One stride for you may actually be a little less or a little more than one foot.

Everyone at bat must wear a batting helmet. A helmet will protect your from head injuries. Some helmets will also come with a shield to make sure your face doesn’t get hit by the ball.

TIP! Helmets for batting need to be worn when you’re hitting a baseball. Head injuries can happen easily if you don’t put on your helmet.

When fielding a ground ball, do not reach in front of your entire body to grab it. Instead, try to shuffle either left or right, getting your gloved hand positioned right in front of the oncoming ball. Failing that, the ball might clip the glove’s side.
