Your glove makes a great sun shield whenever the ball is headed towards you and you are blinded by the sun. Raising the glove over your eyes works to block the sun’s intensity while allowing you to watch to ball as well.

You should have your foot right on the base underneath your throwing hand, allowing you to maximize your stretch. Keep one foot on the base and stretch the other foot, with your glove forward towards the direction from which the ball is being thrown.

When trying to catch a ground ball, always avoid reaching across your entire body. Instead, shuffle quickly to the right or left and get your glove out in front while the ball comes toward it. Trying to do otherwise may cause the ball to hit you on the side of the glove.

When pitching, make sure you’re holding and throwing the ball properly. Put your middle finger firmly near the seam of the baseball. Your thumb should be placed on the opposite seam. This will let you grip the ball properly so you can throw it far as well as fast while being accurate.
